Admission Process

Admission Procedure for First Year and Direct Second Year


The admissions are carried out as per the norms and schedule framed by the DTE from time to time.


Institute is participated in Centralised Admission Process (CAP):- The Competent Authority shall invite Online Applications from Candidates for participating in CAP for  seeking admission.


Institute Level and Vacant Seats of CAP Round:
Eligible candidates seeking admission to first year of diploma course should submit their application form complete in all respect together with necessary documents, to the institute’s office as per the schedule issued by DTE, which will be displayed on the institute’s notice board.


Selection for admission will be strictly on the basis of inter-se-merit of the eligible candidates from the respective State Board areas based on the best  of 5 marks at the S.S.C. (Std. X) examination.  The merit list will be displayed on the institute’s Notice Board.


Notices from time to time will be put up declaring the names of the candidates selected for admission in order of merit, indicating the date by which they must appear for interview.  Candidates should, therefore, see the notice board regularly, if a candidate fails to report along with all original certificates on schedule time and date, his / her admission will be cancelled and the seat will be offered to the next candidates as per  the merit list.


The  merit list of the eligible candidates shall be  prepared on  the basis of percentage of aggregate marks obtained at SSC (including marks for sports, if mentioned in  mark sheet) :
Provided that, in  case  of tie, the relative merit of Candidates shall be  resolved in  the following order of preference and  the methodology  as  specified below  :-
First Year

  • Higher percentage of marks in  the subject Mathematics at SSC.
  • Higher percentage of marks in  the subject Science at SSC.
  • Higher percentage of marks in  the subject English at SSC.
  • Passing HSC  Science.
  • Passing HSC  with Minimum Competency Vocational  Course.
  • Passing ITI  Trade of 2 Years duration.
  • Passing Intermediate  Grade Drawing examination.

Direct Second Year

  • Higher percentage of marks in  the subject Mathematics at SSC.
  • Higher percentage of marks in  the subject Science at SSC.
  • Higher percentage of marks in  the subject English at SSC.

The candidate called for detailed scrutiny of the application must produce the following certificates in original at the time of scrutiny /interview. In case all the relevant documents are not produced, the candidate will loose his/her claim for admission and his/her request for extension of the date will not be entertained under any circumstances.

Candidates shall attach attested copies of all the required certificates to be submitted alongwith the Application Form at the time of Submission  & Original Documents to be submitted at the time of Admission as follows: 


Statement of marks of VIII, IX and  X examination or Proforma Z


Leaving Certificate issued by the School/College (In case of Duplicate Leaving Certificate, candidate must submit the original Affidavit for the same.)


Statement of marks of H.S.C. Science examination (if applicable)


Affidavit for Hindi Minority Candidates. (if applicable)


Domicile Certificate of the Candidate only  (if applicable)


Intermediate Grade Drawing Certificate. (if applicable)


Copy of Birth Certificate  & Copy of Adhar Card


Medical Certificate, duly completed (already printed in Application Form).


Caste Certificate (if applicable)


Non creamy layer certificate valid up to 31st March 2017 (if applicable)


Income Certificate of Parent of Financial Year 2015-16 (if applicable)


Physically Handicap Certificate – Proper Authority (if applicable)


At the time of Admission
- Fees in form of Demand Draft / Pay Order of Nationalized Bank in favour of Thakur Polytechnic              
- 5 Color pass port size photographs with white background.

Course Fees

The final fee approved and published by the Fee Regulating Authority shall be the fee payable by the candidate for that course for the Academic year 2017-18 and should pay in the form of Demand Draft / Pay Order of Nationalized Bank valid for minimum six month in favor of ‘Thakur Polytechnic’. Proposed Interim Fees for the academic year 2017-18 is Rs. 72,000/- excluding admission and lab deposit fees. If the final fees approved is less then the interim fee collected, shall be refunded with in 4 weeks by the institute.

Refund of Fees after cancellation of admission by Institutions

  • The  Candidate shall apply online for cancellation and  submit signed copy of system generated Application for  cancellation of admission to the institution.
  • After receiving admission cancellation request from the Candidate, the institution shall cancel the admission immediately and  generate online acknowledgement of cancellation of admission through institution login  and  issue a signed copy to the Candidate.
  • The  refund of fees  before  cut-off date of admission shall be made within two days  i.e. total fee minus the processing charges of Rs. 1,000  or refund rule shall be as per  the guidelines of the appropriate authorities or the State Government, as  the case  may  be.
  • If  the admission is  cancelled after the cut-off  date of admission declared by  the Competent Authority, there shall be  no  refund except the Security Deposit and  Caution Money  Deposit.

Note :

  • Student having multiple category can apply for all possible schemes but is eligible to get benefit  of any one scheme.  Student should inform the authority about sanctioning of scholarship of under more than one scheme.
