National Service Scheme (NSS)

National Service Scheme (NSS) is a scheme specially made for social cause. The motto of NSS “NOT ME BUT YOU”, reflects the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for self-less service. The philosophy of the NSS is well emphazied in this motto, which underlines the belief that the welfare of an individual is ultimately dependent on the welfare of the society on the whole. Therefore, the NSS volunteers shall strive for the well-being of the society. Thakur Polytechnic have established the NSS unit in 2009 with 50 members and continued with enrolling 50 members every year. It is one of the rarest diploma colleges in Maharashtra having approval of the NSS unit [NSS No. MH 09B45].

Significance of NSS :

The students get an opportunity to develop their personality with various social activities conducted by NSS
They get a platform to put up their talents and improve their skills in all he possible fields.
The students get a chance to serve the society.
If 240 hours are devoted to the society, the respective student gets a NSS Certificate which is very useful in the future.
